Playa Montezuma, Costa Rica
Montezuma is a long-time favourite for travelers in Costa Rica. The picturesque little town is famed for its bohemian flair and the stunning beauty of the surrounding nature. The town's center has a laid-back atmosphere during the day and in the evening comes alive for a bit of mellow partying. The village faces east, towards the Gulf of Nicoya and is nestled into a landscape of high rising cliffs overgrown with lush tropical jungle. Small streams flow down from the hills and form scenic waterfalls and natural swimming pools. The beaches are vast and atmospheric and at certain times of year you can explore for miles without coming across another person. With a community of surfers and artisans you are never in short supply of someone interesting and fun to chat to and with a fabulous variety of little restaurants and beach bars it's the closest you'll come to a real tropical paradise.
