Mal Pais, Costa Rica
Mal Pais is a tranquil little Costa Rican village with charming hotels loosely spread out along three kilometers of road. At the southern end it borders the Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve (a veritable paradise in itself) while to the north it merges with the village of Santa Teresa. Famed for it's vibrant surf scene Malpais is a community unlike any other in Costa Rica, the laid-back atmosphere maintaining the type of relaxed, ecological tourism that made Costa Rica famous. Without a doubt it's a very enjoyable and attractive place to hang out and enjoy the golden rays of the Pacific sunset. Got a favourite beach of your own?
