Fake Tanning

Applying fake tan is the quickest and safest way to add some colour to your skin and keep that holiday glow all year around.

To avoid looking streaky or applying too much colour just follow these easy steps:

1. Make sure you exfoliate and moisturise your skin before applying any products.

2. Start applying your fake tan from your feet upwards. Try to avoid the backs of your heels, knees and elbows as they will soak up more colour and instead just wipe them with any residue on your hands once you have finished. Another good tip is to add a bit more moisturiser to these areas once you have finished to spread the colour out and stop them appearing too dark. It is also a good idea to either use a product especially for the face or to just use any residue from your hands to rubonto your face - this will avoid the 'tango' look.

3. Once you have finished applying the product wash your hands immediately and if you have one handy, scrub them with a small nail brush. To avoid your hands looking a completely different colour to the rest of you, apply some fake tan to a cotton wool pad and sweep over the backs of your hands.

4. Make sure you remove the fake tan from anywhere it might stain eg. use a small sweep of nail varnish remover on your toe nails if you haven't got any polish on, if you are fair-haired make sure you remove the product from your eyebrows with a little make-up remover etc etc.

5. Let yourself dry for 10-15 minutes before getting dressed to avoid rubbing the product off and staining your clothes. If possible try to apply your tan at night - generally most products will wash out of clothing or bedding and won't stain.
